Impcantation Inception — Power Evaluation

Final Score: 58 ± 8 · Confidence: Medium

  • Intrinsic: 57 · Deck: 59 · Meta: provisional
  • Primary role: Starter / Combo enabler · Secondary: Recovery/Recursion

Why it scores here

The card's main job is to Ritual Summon any Ritual Monster by tributing Impcantation monsters, so its power is the conversion of Impcantation bodies into a Ritual play. Its graveyard effect is close to card-neutral: it sends one Impcantation to the GY, Special Summons another from the Deck, and returns itself to hand, which gives it recursion value. The 1,000-deck-style sample shows it is a near-permanent partner of the Impcantation and Megalith shells, but that is consistency, not raw strength, so inclusion numbers only moved the deck-synergy term. It has no opponent interaction and cannot be used as material, so those axes stay low.

Axis scores

Axis Score Evidence
Accessibility 75 Listed in 400 of 400 sampled decks and reachable from the GY after use, but it needs Impcantation bodies in hand or on field to function (observed, combos absent so the starter route is inferred from text).
Combo & Conversion 68 The text converts tributed Impcantation levels into any Ritual Monster, and top partners such as Impcantation Talismandra (97.8%) and Preparation of Rites (74.2%) confirm the Ritual route is used in practice (observed for partners, inferred for conversion strength).
Resource Economy 60 The GY effect costs one Impcantation and gains one Impcantation from Deck plus the card itself back to hand, so hand size is unchanged while the field gains a body (verified from text).
Effect & Interaction 10 Neither effect negates, removes or disrupts an opponent card; both only summon or move cards (verified from text).
Material Utility 20 It is a Spell Card, so it cannot be Xyz, Synchro, Link or Fusion material and provides no body value (verified from text).
Resilience & Flexibility 55 It recurs from the GY, works across hand, field and GY, and the once-per-turn limit caps its repeat use (verified from text, with the once-per-turn wording as a limit).
Deck-Building Efficiency 45 One copy is typical (344 of 400 decks run 1), but it restricts the deck to Impcantation tributes and Ritual monsters, a mild self-locking restriction (observed for copies, inferred for restriction).

Calculation

Weight profile: 0.7 Starter/Combo enabler + 0.3 Recovery/Recursion. Intrinsic ≈ 57, Deck ≈ 59, Meta = provisional. Modifiers: Self-locking restriction (-2). Final formula: 0.40*Intrinsic + 0.60*Deck

Strengths

  • Ritual Summon of any Ritual Monster with a flexible tribute requirement
  • Graveyard effect returns itself to hand while summoning an Impcantation from Deck, so the cost is card-neutral in hand
  • Near-universal inclusion in the sampled Impcantation and Megalith decks, typically one copy
  • Strong partner density with Impcantation Talismandra, Candoll and Preparation of Rites

Weaknesses

  • No opponent interaction of any kind
  • Cannot be used as material
  • Needs Impcantation monsters in hand or on field to function, so it is dead without that shell
  • No combo data, so conversion strength rests on text plus partner counts

Counters / choke points

  • No specific counter cards are in the evidence (inferred: generic negation of the Ritual Summon or the GY effect would stop it)

Best use

Ritual enabler and graveyard recursion. Decks: Impcantation, Megalith. Suggested copies: 1.

Evidence & gaps

  • Verified: Card text: Ritual Summon any Ritual Monster by tributing Impcantation monsters; GY effect sends one Impcantation, summons one from Deck, and returns itself to hand, once per turn; Spell Card with no material use and no interaction effects; Usage statistics: Megalith inclusion 100% at 1 typical copy in the sampled archetype
  • Observed: Listed in 400 of 400 sampled decks; 344 run 1 copy, 43 run 2, 13 run 3; Top partners: Impcantation Talismandra 97.8%, Candoll 96.8%, Chalislime 83.8%, Preparation of Rites 74.2%; Archetype split: Megalith 191/724 and Impcantation 885/1084 hold most decks
  • Inferred: Starter route is real but unmeasured because combos are absent; Restriction to Impcantation shells is a mild self-locking cost; GY recursion is card-neutral in hand and adds a field body
  • Data gaps: No combos supplied; combo conversion and starter/searched stats are text-only inference No banlist token; legal copies assumed at 3 (unlimited) decks_evidence shows 400 of 400 running the card, so the sample may be selected around this card and inflate inclusion avg_starter_count_when_present is null, so deck resilience uses archetype spread only distinct_archetypes (66) counts duplicate names (Megalith, Impcantation, Nouvelles) and overstates portability No rulings supplied for the Ritual Summon tribute interaction
